Chapter 1
Princess Ruthie
Once upon a time in a land far,far away lived a young girl named Ruthie. Ruthie was about ten years old when her mother first told her that she was a princess. She was very excited! From then on Ruthie's mother started treating her like a princess.
All of the maids, gardeners, butlers, and cooks were now calling her Princessa instead of Ruthie. But she couldn't get too used to being a princess, after all she was only a girrl and felt as though she wasn't normal anymore. At school, her friends and teachers call her Miss or Princessa like her maids. And they didn't act like they naormally did around her. Every time she had to reink her quill or get another peace of parchment, someone would say, 'I'll get it Miss.' Ruthie felt like all her friends had been brainwashed and thought they were her maids. She felt very lonely now. Almost everything in her life had changed in what seemed like minutes.
Ruthie still had one friend left, though. ti was a poor bakers daughter. Her name was Kit. Everyday Kit and Ruthie gave eachother notes since Kit was forbidden to talk to Ruthie. Kit and Ruthie shared their innermost thoughts and feelings with each other. Both girls felt as though nobody would truly understand them.
