Title: Casey: my puppy hero
The day of my birthday was sunny and birds woke me up with their chirping. I went down stairs and there was a big stack of presents and a lot of pancakes waiting for me! I downed the pancakes and started in on the presents. My mom, dad, and older brother Mike watched and laughed as my toddler sister Cammy tried to help me. I got a lot of great stuff but not what I really wanted. A dog. And then Mom said 'Oh, there's something in the backyard for you.' I ran to the back and there was a puppy reacing around! 'Oh my gosh!' I screamed. My puppy, who I later named Casey, was jumping on me and licking my cheeks. She was perfect.
Well, about two monthes later I was walking in the woods with Casey. She was a beagle and was constantly sniffing.
We came to a part of the woods I didn't know and there was a cave in front of us. I stepped in, with Casey just ahead of me.
And suddenly there was a shriek. Bats! Boy, was I scared of bats. I started running and in my haste I tripped over a rock on the path. I fell and twisted my ankle. It hurt like heck and my head was spinning. It was a bad sprain and I fell unconcious.
I woke up with my ankle bandaged. I was lying in bed with some cards on my dresser next to me. My parents informed me that when I fell, Casey had run home, led them to the cave, and saved me. My puppy was my hero.
