Title: Cassidy: Pokémon Master (Part One)
'Cassidy! Wake up right now!' Cassidy snapped her eyes open. 'What the heck do you want, Billy?' she screamed. 'It's only 8:30!' 'Exactly!' Billy yelled up the stairs. 'We only have half an hour until we get our Pokémon!' Cassidy jumped out of bed, got dressed, and ran almost as fast as a Rapidash downstairs for breakfast. She polished off a plate of pancakes in a record 3 minutes, packed important items in her pack, slipped her Poké Gear on her wrist, and was at Prof. Jauna's lab in at least five minutes. Billy was right behind her, panting like a dog . . . or should I say Vulpix? Anyway, Cassidy rapped sharply on the door. Prof. Jauna answered the door, smiling. 'Hi, you two. Come in.' Cassidy grinned and elbowed Billy, who said, 'Oommpphh!' and fell to the ground. Cassidy shrugged and walked inside. 'So, kids, which Pokémon will it be?' Just then, a young woman rushed in, followed by a teenage boy. The girl had spiky blue hair that hung to her waist, and the teenage boy had green hair that hung to his chin and covered one of his eyes. 'Hi, Mom!' said the girl. 'I'll take Chikorita.' The teenage boy grinned. 'That's just like you, Jen.' Prof. Jauna handed Chikorita to Jen. 'I'll take Totodile,' said the teenager. 'Got it, Gareth,' said Prof. Jauna, handing Totodile to Gareth. 'I'll take Cyndaquil,' Billy said in a rush. Prof. Jauna gave Cassidy a look of sympathy and handed Cyndaquil to Billy. Jen laughed. 'Ha, like she would get a Pokémon anyway.' Cassidy's brown eyes flashed angrily. 'Well, I'm leaving, Mom,' said Jen. 'Gotta be the best, you know. May as well get a head start!' She and Gareth walked out of the lab. 'I've still got one, Cassidy,' said Prof. Jauna, handing a Poké Ball to Cassidy. The ball opened and the room was filled with light. The light faded, and a little brown Pokémon was standing at Cassidy's feet. ****What is this new Pokémon, and will it cooperate? Find out next time, in Part Two of Cassidy: Pokémon Master!****
