Title: The Hidden Statue-Chapter 1
It was late winter when Casey moved into the run-down house on Pleasant Street, and the house which had been empty for over fifty years was cold and musty. When his parents showed him the house, Casey nearly gagged. 'This dump?' He cried, astounded. His parents had had a feeling that would be his reaction, so they stayed calm. 'Casey, give it a try. Why don't you go explore?' Yes, Casey couldn't disagree with the fact that the huge old house would take about three hours to explore everything, so he mumbled and grunted but in the end trudged inside.
It was a house that amazed you, to say the least. There was a little bit of furniture in each room; a broken chair and a sagging couch in what must have been a parlor, a tarnished pitcher and a wooden bowl in the kitchen. Casey gripped the hand rail tightly as he ascended the stairs and made it safely to the top.
But what amazed Casey the most was the attic. It was the kind that would have held dress up trunks and full length mirrors. Now there were just boxes of junk, yet Casey felt drawn to it. As he stepped across the threshold of the damp attic, floorboards creaked and gave way, and Casey felt himself falling down, down...
