Title: Wedding
It’s the date of your life,
With the man of your dreams,
Nerves could be cut with a knife,
He nervous too, it seems,
He suddenly shifts,
And from his jacket he pulls,
nd what sits in his fist,
Just sits there and sparkles,
It sits on a ring,
Like an angel’s halo,
The diamond fit for a king,
You can hardly swallow,
He bends on his knee,
His words so sincere,
And from what you can see,
You know what you hear,
But you don’t know for sure,
If you can give what he wants,
A marriage to her,
She can’t stand his aunts,
But that can wait,
She decided in glee,
It was all fate,
She’d be married to he,
She rode home on a cloud,
Number nine, I believe,
She heard not a sound,
And her mind was a sieve,
The next day the phone rang,
Again and again,
On the door there’s a bang,
It’s bride Barbie’s Ken,
She flung open the door,
And you can guess who was there,
Her heart was so sore,
And he really did care,
He gave her a hug,
Fast acting Tylenol,
Gave her hair a tug,
He hadn’t bothered to call,
But she quickly forgave,
When she saw him once more,
She was so glad she’d stayed,
Home to hear the door,
They made wedding plans,
For hours many,
They held hands,
And forgot Aunt Penny,
That night she couldn’t sleep,
She was so joyful,
The wedding’s in two weeks,
She’d have her hands full,
Those 14 days passed,
At the speed of a minute,
She hoped love would last,
The ring was the ticket,
She’d still have to hop,
On the train by herself,
But the moment it stopped,
She’d quickly cry help,
Wedding day came,
Worry lines too,
Life never’ll be the same,
With Aunt Sue,
As she walked down the isle,
Her heart was happy beneath,
She could hardly smile,
Much less breath,
But when she reached the end,
She finally knew,
She’d made more than a friend,
His heart was true,
So when the time came,
To make her life new,
It’s never been the same,
After she said I do.
As she looks at the past,
The old lady she’s now,
Could say love did last,
The fates did allow,
