Title: Befriending Best Friends

Sometimes you are my best friend,
But around others I am not,
Didn’t you hear friends ‘till the end?
I overestimated you a lot,

You think that I’m being dramatic,
But I don’t see that way,
You think I’m a possessive fanatic,
You only care what others say,

When you say you’ll sit by me at lunch,
You run off with some other friend,
I tell you I have a hunch,
That our friendship won’t last ‘till the end,

You have no clue,
How much it hurts me,
When I see you with other friends,
Especially when you said you’d sit by me,
How long must I pretend?
