Title: Cape Ri Astronauts Band: Part One: Cape Ri Astonau

'Why did you call us here?' Keiko sat down. Raicho had called her and some others to our hideout in Cape Ri. 'Hold on,' said Raicho. 'There`s one more . . .' Just then, the hatch opened to the underground room and I dove in. 'Hi, guys,' I said, taking my seat. 'Hi, Gaho,' Okakura said. 'Anyway,' said Raicho, 'as Keiko asked, I called you here because something exciting has happened.' There were a few whispers at this. 'What happened?' asked Niriaki loudly. Raicho rolled her eyes. She pressed a button and a screen lit up. It showed a picture of a spacecraft. 'What is it?' asked Niriaki. Raicho shot a glance at Niriaki. He`s the youngest of all of us, so it wasn't that unusual . . . except for the fact that he was ten. Niriaki cleared his throat. 'Will you please answer my question?' 'Act your age!' Raicho snapped. 'This is the alien spacecraft that Matabei predicted would come around the Earth`s atmosphere yesterday.' Matabei, who had had his eyes closed, smirked. 'We need to find out more about it,' said Raicho, 'The only way is to launch a rocket and study it. It`s dangerous, but someone`s got to do it. Who`s with me?' There was silence. 'For science and curiousity!' Keiko cried, the first time anybody had seen her being pleasant. 'Yeah! Let`s do it!' Ryoko yelled. 'We`ve got to have a name for the association, though.' 'How about Cape Ri Astronauts Band?' suggested Niriaki. 'CRAB?' asked Ryoko. 'Well, anyone have a better idea?' There was silence. 'No,' Okakura said. 'Okay,' said Ryoko. 'Let`s do it.' I took out a large piece of paper. 'Let`s get started.'

Raicho stuck her head out of the underground room. 'You guys?' she called into the room. 'It`s getting dark, and I know we all have curfews.' 'Hurmph,' said Keiko, writing her ideas on the paper. Raicho climbed out. 'See you later,' she said. 'I hope you don't freeze tonight.' 'Keep your pants on!' I yelled, turning off the lights in the room and urging the others out. 'Thanks, Gaho,' said Raicho. 'No problem,' I said. 'They listen to me.' 'You should be the leader,' said Raicho. 'No,' I said, 'I'm so disorganized that if we had something important, I would probably flush it down the toilet thinking it was one of my sister's science notes.' Raicho laughed. 'Okay, okay, I`ll be the leader. But just until CRAB Association ends.' 'Thanks,' I said, racing ahead to ask Matabei what would happen to me if I flushed my sister`s bird down the toilet.
