Title: my first day (lol), part 2
We arrived in the strangest way possible, by boat! After the lovely train journey we were all packed into boats and set off rowing towards Hogwarts. I loved it, especially the boy who laughed at me, (i found out that his name is Malfoy) feel in head first! Yeah, what a corker! I threw him a fiece glance when he looked at me and he shivered from the cold, particles of the lake which were slowly dripping off him. Harry told me about his awful life with the Dursleys and i told him about mine. We both decided to keep in contact over the summer as i lived near Diagon Alley.
We had arrived, the great doors loomed high above us, and once they were opened, 100 or so excited students clamboured into the Great Hall. It looked marvellous. Candles were suspended in the air, held by nothing but an unknown force, tables lined the giant room where other pupils sat quietly waiting for some unknown event, but we soon found out what. We were each called up to a rather old looking worn out hat which spoke! It read our minds, thoughts, fears and bravery anf placed us into a house. Harry, Ron and Hermione were all in Gryfindor, now it was my turn. I gingerly appraoched the hat.
There is nothing in your head i cannot see,
so try me on and i will tell you which house you ought to be! I whispered. I pulled the hat on. It whispered in my ear, a lot of sense hear, bravery is very high but a battle to overcome your shyness must be won. I think you will fit well in GRYFFINDOR! I almost jumped to the hight heavens. Harry ran to me, as did Ron and Hermione and we all hugged as we each sat down. I smiled broadly as the food appeared on my plate and we all dug in. Yes, this would be an exciting year i thought as Harry smiled and congratulated me. Hermione handed me a book screaming that i MUST read it and Ron slid a chocolate frog under the table. I smiled and picked up my knife and fork.
