Title: Who is Me?

Practically everything in our world today is flashy,
Sparkly, glittery, and fake,
What ever happened to simple,
In color, design, and make,

Years ago, I met a man,
Who was real as can be,
He let me in on a secret,
I really should just be me,

Not the me with makeup,
And shimmery clothes,
But the me who lies beneath them,
The me almost no one knows,

The me who does not care,
What others decide and think,
The me who used to exist,
Where is the missing link?

The link vanished just this year,
When I entered 7th grade,
That’s when I began to care,
About my boring, lame facade,

But my true friends stuck by me,
While I searched for me,
But now that I know the secret,
It’s quite frankly easy to see,

I’m me under all my makeup,
And clothes of glittery shame,
I’m me and I always have been,
Just hidden by the game,
