Title: The Secret 2
After dinner, Katie called Stacey. What she saw in the mirror;it had an image of Stacey, hurt badly. Maybe something had really happened. Or was she imagining it? Well, she wanted to know the truth. Stacey's mother had picked up the phone.
'Hello? This is Jenny Robins.'
'Hi. This is Katie. Is Stacey there?' Mrs. Robins was quiet.
'But...she said she was going over to your house. She should be there by now. Are you sure she's not there yet, Katie dear?' she sounded worried. Katie looked out of the window, but she didn't see Stacey anywhere.
'Um, no. She hasn't arrived yet. She probably ran into her friend. You shouldn't worry.' but Katie felt worried herself.
'Well, if, I mean when she gets home, I'll tell her you called. Bye.' Mrs. Robins hung up before she had a chance to say bye. Katie hung up. She shakily put on her socks and shoes, and raced down the stairs.
'Mom? Can I go outside? I'm going to meet up with Stacey.' Katie prayed and prayed, hoping her mom would say yes.
'Well, just be back before it gets too dark.' her mom answered. Katie ran out of the door. She stormed down the streets, looking in all of the allies as she passed. Katie started to worry for her friend. What she saw in the mirror; she could have gotten hurt the same time, and Katie had seen it! She ran faster, starting to feel desperate, a lump rising in her throat. Tears welted in her eyes, and she couldn't run any longer. Her heart started to beat faster and faster.
Where could she be? What if she's...Katie stopped thinking. That can't be! Katie continued to run, until she passed 5 neighborhoods from her own home, but she couldn't find any trace of Stacey anywhere. Just when she was about to give up, she heard a loud scream coming from an apartment. The scream had to have come from an apartment on the third floor because there was a window ajar there. Katie bit her lip, wondering how she would get there. It was getting too dark, but what if that was Stacey. Saving your friend is way more important than getting home early. She ran to the side of the apartment. There were railings there with stairs. They looked like they weren't very supportive, and it would fall if someone was on it. Still, she ran over to them.
