Chapter 1 part 2

Now that Papa had a job everything was going quite well. I am keeping a diary of what it is like in America so when I grow older I can travel back to France and show my people what it was like. I just need a place that I can be by myself when writing in it like a secret room. Maybe I'll find one, mama said that the whole house hasn't been explored yet. If there is a secret room I want to be the first to find it so I will start searching today.
Wow, this hall is very long! It must be fill with a million rooms on both sides. And what is that over there on the wall. Oh, a painting, mama will be overwhelmed with joy to have such a lovely painting.
The painting is very wide adn also tall. It seems to be a square but with rounded edges. As I rolled my eyes over the painting I noticed a crack in the wall be hind the painting. What could it be? Ohh, it is a room!
