Title: Fair

I get tied up in my troubles,
And ponder my fears,
But somepeople's are doubled,
No luck ever appears,

I sit in this chair,
Thinking about,
How life isn't fair,
But that's not mine to shout...

It's hard for me to think,
About how my problems,
Will have no link,
With how the future comes,

I am too tied up,
Thinking about me,
How my life's trussed-up,
How much more dense could I be?

But when I shift my mind,
To stop pittying and grumbling,
I feel much better, I find,
And cease the mumbling,

At this very moment,
I think of our men,
Who have no consent,
To be in Afganistan,

They're not wanted there,
But fight for liberty,
For them that's not fair,
Or for you and me,

Because we also hold,
The responsibility,
Of how the future is told,
It's up to you and me,

I'm trying to convince,
Myself in this process,
I've been thinking since,
And had time to assess,

There are two problems,
Joined at the knee,
That's how it comes,
That's how it'll be,

The first of these,
Is self-centeredness,
I beg myself please,
Let this happen less,

But this problem,
Isn't my burden only,
Everyone must come,
And take responsibility,

Because it's a nationwide obstacle,
We are forced and must climb,
The problem's becoming less subtle,
We've put it off and now's the time,

The other one is inevitable,
And is one that just will be,
Even if you aren't miserable,
Nothing will be even for me,

The fact just happens to be,
That life is a roller coaster,
Fair is a matter of how you see,
But what you see will never be fair,

Fair is you as a dictator,
The ruler of the world,
Life would be a bore,
As your book of rules unfurled,

Fair is when advantage,
No longer does exist,
Because then would be the age,
Where no one tried to resist,

Fair is all in your head,
Beg it hide away,
The obstacles are widely spread,
You deal with them every day,

So when you decide to say,
That something isn't fair,
Does Afganistan have its way,
Or would you like to be there?
