Upside-Down

Oh Dear Diary,
I have an incredible story that inspired me to start a diary.
Love, Tonya
“That noise! What is it? I’m home alone, it’s seven at night on a Friday and there shouldn’t be anyone making noise but me,” Tonya said climbing the stairs to her bedroom. As she got closer the sound became louder and she recognized her boom box playing. To comfort herself, Tonya started singing along with the music.
“ ‘My grades went down from As to Ds. I’m way behind in history…’ ” Tonya stopped outside her doorway. She was still singing the song, but not opening the door. “ ‘I’ve lost myself in fantasy. With you and me together, I don’t know why - ie - ie - ie but gym is all I do. I won’t get by - ie - ie - ie on mere imagination.’ ” Tonya cracked open the door. No one was in her room but she could hear someone singing the next few lines.
“ ‘Upside-down, bouncing off the ceiling. Inside-out stranger to this feeling. Got no clue what I should do…’ ” Tonya looked into her mirror at an angle that she could look around her room without herself being seen. She saw a girl about her own age, 12, dancing right in front of her boom box. The girl was about five feet tall and had long brown hair up in a pony tail. She was wearing a dark blue tank top and bellbottoms with a few patches on the knee. Tonya didn’t understand why she could not see the girl the first time she looked into her room. She looked away from the mirror and back at the boom box but saw nothing. Shocked, Tonya leaned against the door and fell into the room.
Tonya heard a shriek and then a thud. She looked up. The girl was on the floor, flat on her back. Tonya had no idea whether to run away or help. So, she turned off the music and stood there, staring at the girl.
A few minutes later, the girl woke up. “Who, who, who are you?” she asked.
