“She’s after me! You’re the only one I can trust!” The girl whispered frantically, “You know my secret!”
Tonya was confused, “Who’s after you? Trust me with what? What secret? And who are you?”
“No time! Just hide me from Amber!” The girl pulled the sheets over her head again.
The room suddenly got colder. Tonya’s teeth began to chatter. She wasn’t going to get back into bed with ice-bags, so what was she going to do?
She didn’t have much time to think before someone called her name. She turned and saw Allison.
“Allison! You’re back!” Tonya yelled excitedly.
Allison put her finger to her lips. Tonya shut her mouth. She hadn’t realized how loud she had been.
“Where’s Amber?” Allison said so coldly and with such a straight face that Tonya was too scared to speak.
“I said, where’s Amber?” This time she spoke through gritted teeth.
“Wwwho’s Amber?” Tonya stuttered.
Allison looked suspiciously around the room. She spotted the lump in Tonya’s bed. Tonya realized what Allison was looking at and came up with a quick excuse.
“I was sleeping. Haven’t you realized how late it is? Even though it’s embarrassing I’ll tell you anyway,” Tonya paused before whispering, “I sleep with a giant pink bunny rabbit!”
