Title: Welcome to the Real World
As a child you cannot see,
What the world is really like,
You cannot know how bad it could be,
You see only your own dislike,
This ignorance is bliss,
And shameful just the same,
You don’t know all that exists,
You think life is a simple game,
You don’t realize that your mistakes,
Can haunt you all your life,
You just see the present trouble it makes,
And don’t think about future strife,
One day without a warning,
Everything will change,
You will begin mourning,
This unfair exchange,
Suddenly you will be,
Put on the spot,
And have the responsibility,
When you say “I forgot,”
I forgot to pay my bills,
And stop at red lights,
Because I had the chills,
But now it’s your plight,
Excuses will not work,
Sympathy gives no action,
Your world is going berserk,
All because of one infraction,
When you are so young,
Appreciate it while you can,
Because responsibility is hung,
Waiting for that span,
Be ready for that time,
So you will be prepared,
Ignorance is the prime,
Problem to be repaired,
But do not worry about it now,
Because no matter what you think,
You will survive it somehow,
You will swim, not sink,
It’s just a clue for you,
Into your own future,
You will know what to do,
You have no need for concern,
