Title: Carrie gets Even Pt. 2

Th next day at school I put my name down on the cheerleading tryout list. I never thought that i would be doing any thing like that but three years of gymnastics didn't hender my chances of making the squad. Afterall the cheerleaders do get to travel with the football team. I made the squad went to boring pep rallies put on a happy face and was the only girl on the entire squad that knew what was happening on the field. All the while I was witing for some thing big to happen. Something that would show the coach that girls were as good as any guy in football.
My big chance to prove this came in the game against Marshall it was almost the end of the season and this game wasthe game to decide which team was going to the semi finals. Our football team only had two quarter backs and one was hurt from a previous game. And now the other one was down for the count after the hit he took it would suprise everyone if he knew his own name. A time out was called as the coaches thought out their next move. Here was my chance it was now or never. I tapped the coach on the shoulder and said 'Coach put me in I can make that throw you know it I didn't sit on the side lines after practice and not learn the playbook coach I'm begging you put me in' 'We dont have nothing to loses Coach' And with that final remark coah let me suit put and play. Down by three with 47 sec. on the clock 'Blue 47 Blue 47 hut hut hike' I was in the pocket I had all the time in the day to Look. Then I saw open #29 was to I didn't have much time I decide to throw it to #29. My heart beating a mile a minute as he ran into the endzone scoring the. Everyone was running on the field as I quietly walked back to the locker room to change back into my cheerleading uniform. As I was leaving I heard a voice ask 'Why did you do it?' I turned around it was coach 'Football is my life Coach I'm not going to let someone tell me I can't live my life because I'm a girl.' I repliedThe Coach looked at me and said 'I'm sorry.' 'Sorry for what?' I asked him as I opened the door to find my mom to give me a ride home. When I left that locker room I felt a slight bit of victory in me. And like they say big girls don't cry they get even. Well I felt like I had done just that at least on one field. Maybe now the Coach would think next time he says that football is a man's sport. I'm was just glad to be a apart of it. Now all I have to do is worry about how the kids at school are going to react on Monday.
