Title: Christmas in the Philipines

Hello I am from the Philippines but we moved here to Canada in 1999.
Christmas in the Philippines starts as the month ends 'BER' that means starts as early as September. The malls starts to display christmas decorations and playing Christmas songs. Comes December the 16'th , we starts our DAWN MASS which ends December 25th.
Most of the places were decorated with different color of blinking lights architecturally design so if you go out especially at nighttime its like you are in a special place. We do prepare some 'PAROLS' hanged stars made with bamboo wood and covered with different colors of plastic cellophane and with different colors of light inside and if you turn it on different color of lights were dancing.

During the Christmas Eve we would do carolling and we bring with us a lot of instruments such as guitar, tamborine, and other instuments and go to every house to play our instruments and sing a Christmas carol,in return they would pay us or give as a gift. That is a tradition. We go to the mass every night. We would open presents after the mass which is very tempting to us kids.We didn't have a car back then so we had to walk to church and walk home, and beleive me it was a very long walk. But at least there is no snow in there!
