Title: Blind Ways
What is the world coming to?
Why are things the way they are?
But the real question: what should we do?
Or has the damage extended too far,
Where has our sympathy gone,
And hidden itself away,
It's not just a meaningless pawn,
When I we think that, our sympathy strays,
Why do we spend our time,
Pretending we have sympathy,
It's a legal but hurtful crime,
Being someone we shouldn't be,
Why do we let the important things pass,
And focus on the glamor and glitter?
Why do we pretend that this one is the last,
Cruel and hurtful thing we let flitter,
Everyone claims that they know,
That everything would be better,
If the honest way they would go,
Following truthfulness to the letter,
People are afraid to throw,
Themselves where they are defenseless,
That's why the honest path we don't go,
Even though honesty is the best,
Why do we let minds manipulate,
Us into thinking that we're superior
We think that we're so great,
And that everyone else is inferior,
We as in our government,
Who make some seriously bad,
Decisions that I really resent,
Wishing sympathetic minds they had,
Why do we bomb before we talk,
Or even bother to stop and think,
Like cat and mouse we continue to stalk,
All the while missing the sympathetic link,
We don't seem to comprehend,
It's human lives that are in our hands,
Lives that are not ours to spend,
They're humans like us! No one understands,
That all goes back to our ego,
It's hurting the way the world goes around,
To realizing this we're very slow,
We can't hear the agonizing sound,
Of people screaming and begging,
For only life, with no luxeries,
We can't see the results it brings,
Killing humans whenever we please,
