Title: How the Giraffe Got Its Long Neck
Years ago in ancient Egypt, the giraffe use to work for the Pharaoh. Everyone was so happy that the pharaoh had such a wonderful friend. Until one day the giraffe was told by a slave that many strange things were going to happen in the near by future. The slave told the Pharaoh that the giraffe was the one who said it.
The Pharaoh was angry with his ex-trusty friend. The Pharaoh's bodyguards ran fast to catch giraffe. Giraffe knew what would happen to him if he ever came back to the Pharaoh's land. Giraffe heard the guards yelling at each other saying, 'Seize him… seize him!' So giraffe ran faster and faster, but he knew that they were to fast for him to get away. Giraffe ran into the desert until he couldn't run anymore. As he slowed down, the guards captured him and brought him directly to the Pharaoh.
The Pharaoh sentenced him to fifteen minutes of stretching. As the guards brought giraffe up onto the podium, many people shouted in delight. Giraffe was ashamed that he ever talked to a slave. Even though he knew he was innocent, he still felt he needed punished.
When the guards were finished, the neck on the giraffe was four feet long. Now the giraffe could see as far as he wanted. This is how the giraffe got its long neck.
