Title: A false pretence

Looking Around.
I see it all.
What is scraped into hidden corners
Poverty is everywhere.
Lives amock.
A child weeping in a half decent frock.
Her pale eyes shine with fright.
Her tears like crystals.
Our hope
And rock
To her is nothing but a cover up.

Whereas here I am lucky
We are are,
I have good fitting outfits, a home
Luxuries like computers,
Heat,
Electricity,
Internet,
Phones
Friends and a reason to live

But look in some cities where children are on the run.
Homeless and hungry
Their battle had only just begun.
And yet here I stand in luxury.
I sometimes take for granted

This is based on when I went to London a year ago and saw loads of homeless children in tourist spots.

Poetry is a great way to express yourself, whether you're feeling down or on top of the world. There are many different types of poems and remember, they don't have to rhyme.
