Title: Owning me
I thought we were having fun.
I’m sure it was just a laugh.
I don’t think you meant any harm.
You just went that bit too far.
The ball was always in your court.
You owned me from the start.
Against you two, I could not have fought.
Control was a fine art.
You cut me off socially,
I never saw my friends.
You abused me emotionally.
And nearly drove me round the bend.
It hurts that no one ever guessed,
The bruises, blood, aggression, tears.
Why didn’t they see I was in distress?
And always lived in fear.
