Title: Angels-A football story(chapter 1)
'Okay ignore any comments from anyone mean okay? Jenn keep your eye on the ball.'
Jenn's dad whispered as he turned to leave. Jenn smiled no one was used to the idea of her on a football team. She looked at her football kit nervously. It was a red football shirt and shorts with blue stripes and a number ten with her surname James on the back in neat black lettering on the back. Her mid length rusty brown hair was in a loose pony tail She walked over to the team joining in the warm up exercises.
'Looky here Joe a girl footballer. Ow Mummy I broke a fingernail.'
A blonde haired boy name Max hissed to Joe a pale and skinny redhead.
'Are you talking about me or yourself.'
She hissed back with a firey glint in her eyes.
'We'll see.'
Just then a sharp piercing whistle blew and a stout muiddle aged man walked over.
'We'll have a match today. Five a side. Oh and welcome Jennifer James.'
'I prefer Jenn as Jennifer is so formal and thank you.'
'Thank you Jenn. Right James, Gordon, Patrick, Mikey and Jenn will be team A and Joe, Max, Ben, Carl and Robert team B. Ready.'
They organised positions and Jenn was a striker. And they were off. Team B were one nil in frount with only two minutes to go and the practice almost over advancing up on them when Jenn neatly tackled them and proceeded in dribbling the ball around neatly dodging a tackle from Max as she concentrated on the goalpost as a target and her foot made contact with the ball. Goal! Then within another minute Patrick scored! Victory for her. Max gave her a sour look as her team crowded around her and Patrick. She had proven herself now. It looked like the Angel football team had a new player in striker position. Jenn felt her talent was being recognised at last!
