Title: The Poem of a Cheater

When I wake up in the morning, I see your face.
I sit there and think about you and I catch a case.

A case of simple, simple love,
And you came to me like an angel
God sent from above.

When I saw you that day, I didn’t know what to say.
But right then I knew, it had to be you.

When I looked so deep into your eyes
All I saw was harmless, white lies.

The lies you tried to make were like the lies our first date.
But after you had done it all, it was all over, it was too late.

Now I look at the sky and I think
“What if we were still together?”
But then I see a star twinkle, like God’s wink and say
“It’s all for the better.”

When friends ask me about this experience with you
I say, “What, I don’t know what your talking about Eugene who?”

I will always remember that sadness you gave me,
But now I realize a player, you need to leave alone and let them be.
