Title: why was clara crying?

'Why is Clara crying?'
The whispers rang high and low,
No one had the answer,
No one wanted to know.

She was a nobody at school
Hardly ever noticed at all
We never answered her questions
Ignoring all her calls.

She was crying so hard,
It seemed her heart would break
Her eyes shed so much tears,
It almost formed a lake.

Everyone walked by,
Not caring to stop and look
That a little girl was crying,
Though just a bit of effort it took.

I had to do something,
I couldn’t let the matter go,
As I walked towards her,
The teachers talked in voices ever so low.

'Her parents have divorced at last,
And she is wanted no where.
Poor Clara! Her at will take her,
Though she doesn't want to go there.'

My mouth dropped open
I was at a loss of words.
What could I do now?
When what happened was the worst?

But I went and sat with her
As quietly as I could,
And wrapped my arms around her
As a friend or best friend would.

Her eyes were full of pain,
Enough for a heart to stir.
Still I know she felt a lot better.
For I sat and cried with her.
