Title: First Ten Years

When I was a one year old, lying in my cot.
I never got cold, 'cos my mum made me hot,
with blankets and coats 'till I was two,
then came the "sniffles" and doses of flu.
When I was three, I just wanted to walk.
But along came four, and the non-stop talk.
The next year I think was one of my best,
five years old, and the last year to rest,
before I turn six and would be off to school.
Maybe it isn't so bad, infact, quite cool.
Next birthday, seven, a lucky number for some.
Not so much for my poor old mum.
That's the age when you fight with your mate,
she wasn't half glad, when I was suddenly eight.
Eight was O.K. 'cos I settled down fine.
It was trouble again when I reached the big nine.
Always late with homework, again and again.
Double figures at last, Iv'e made it to ten.
Well that's the first decade of my life gone past.
I wonder if the next ten will go so fast.
