Title: The Outlaw
The outlaw hid in the bushes,
The folks knew him as Wild Ben,
He never robbed a woman,
He only mugged the men.
He held up a bank at gunpoint,
He stole while people slumbered,
And now that the coppers were after him
He knew his days were numbered.
He counted the men-one,two, three, four
He counted his bullets-three,
He could shoot three men and while the other stood stunned
It would give him some time to flee.
He gulped down the whisky and got ready to pounce,
As the cops were just passing by,
When he saw the men were armed,he knew
That someone was going to die.
His thoughts were drowned by the brook nearby,
As he stepped out into the light,
Little did he know that this
Would be his final fight.
The men turned around and a gun went off,
Then Ben let out a scream,
He fell off his horse and staggered back,
His blood poured into the stream.
He knelt on the ground and asked out aloud,
Which only the men could hear,
To acknowledge his family that he was dead,
To whom he had held so dear.
He coughed up some blood and then said farewell,
And that was the last he said,
For his body went limp and the men declared
That Wild Ben was finally dead.
So his family found out,and the cops figured out
The location of his den,
But years have passed,and the people forgot
The robber,whose name was Wild Ben.
