Title: I Wonder
I lay here, lost in my feelings and I wonder.
I wonder about life, love and think about forgiveness.
My soul now takes shelter in the rain where it feels safe.
And every day I feel consumed by life, struggling to get free, wondering.
Wondering if I can look into someones eyes and actually see them.
But now even when I look at the mirror it feels as if I'm looking at someone else,
the reflection looks at me with different eyes.....
and with a different soul.....this scares me.
To look at myself and see a strangers eyes.
Every day I feel a little bit of my soul slipping away,
my power of reason has been gone so long it feels like a memory.
I wonder if I could change humanity by life, death, or sacrifice.
My thoughts betray me and leave me lost....
Lost in my own emotions and Lost in my own mind.
I fear that when someone looks into my eyes they see emptiness.
I ask so much out of life, but wonder if I deserve it.
Everyone I see tells me I wear a mask of sorrow and anger.
And I wonder....am I alone, or am I just lost.
I have done so much ...but yet I haven't done anything.
I have touched the sun, embraced the moon and have seen darkeness on the brightest day.
To be free of reason and to live with passion is all I crave.
I wonder if I'll ever kiss someones eyes, feel the warm glow of a smile, and hear the music of desire.
To be blessed with this is the greatest pleasure of all,
but it comes with a weak foundation and is easy to destroy.
To be committed to love, and committed to follow.
To be free of change is a privilege and a curse,
to better myself is something I yearn and yet I still I wonder
I wonder about memories, some will be forgotton, some will be forsaken
And some will be cherished for a lifetime.
Other people challenge this, people who are stronger than I
And I wonder about things some people can't possibly imagine.
