Title: What We Had

What we had

I miss your smile I miss your laugh I miss everything about you.
But something holds me back and I have doubt in you.
I don't understand! What did I do?

I thought that we would be together for so long
But something happened I don't know what went wrong
I cried so hard just lying in my bed,
Praying that you didn't mean those cruel words you said.

I say I am over you but I really know
I can't forget you and my feelings still show
The times we had and the places we'd go
And when we kissed the butterflies flowed

I never thought I'd hurt this much,
I couldn't stop crying over you.
How could you hurt me and feel no guilt too?

Do you know what it felt like when you said what you said?
My body felt numb and my heart torn apart
Like I was a game you already won
It was time to move on your job was done!

I do not feel complete anymore a part of me is missing
I loved the way you used to play with my hair
When we were on the bed, kissing.

I thought you'd always be with me.
Always by my side but then you betrayed me,
Without saying goodbye.

You set me adrift on a sea to explore
Where my tears fell freely and my heart hit the floor
I wish you knew what you have done
Its like putting a gun to my head and saying my life is done.

First you lie, then cheat, and then deceive,
Then lie again, then cheat again, and then deceive again.
When will this circle of ungrateful pain end?

We had so much fun together,
The memories we made so great,
All those nights we talked for hours on the phone
Were what made our friendship so special.

But somehow something clicked in your mind
And you went and screwed up all those good times
Your childish reasons made no sense
To cause such a break up this immense

As the snow falls on the sidewalks,
I know this too will pass,
For feelings are like the seasons changing,
And one season never lasts…

A slip of the tongue is all it takes
And suddenly it makes me feel alone
Boxed in a sea of tears
I'm failing to escape.

Cruelty is it's game
Life it's name ever changing,
Rapidly sweeping you along
Like a roller coaster you can't stop
As you spin out of control its too late
You've hurt me now and it won't change fate.

All the nights we laughed and talked,
Of deepest thoughts and untold truths,
Stay on my mind as I think of you.
Bridges not yet crossed are even burned.
As your path has changed and mine has too.

You've turned into a cold, shallow
And fake person that I never knew.

Where did you go?
I will always be there waiting for you.
Love always
