Title: I am a pencil

Here I am packaged up hanging on a shelf with my brothers and sisters waiting to be sold. Three days went by and no one bought us. Then the fourth day a third grade girl bought us and we went to school in a paper bag. When we got to school she took me out of the package and sharpened me. I yelped and said, "Ow! Watch it! You're hurting my feet!" But she did not hear. I never knew being bought would be so hard. Then she wrote with me and pressed too hard, and my feet broke. I felt like I was going to pop! At the end of the day when everyone was gone, I told all the pencils I could find that the people were cruel. So I made a plan. We would sneak out tonight. My brother, Sam, would unlock the door with his point. But when he tried it would not work. He was too skinny. All the pencils tried except me. They could not do it so it was all up to me. I tried and I. . . did it. I unlocked the lock. We were free and we lived happily ever after.
