Title: The Detective Part IV

The police arrived soon but did not make any noise for sameer had told them that Mr. Katiyaar was sleeping and if he woke up and came to know that the police was there, he could use one of his many bombs. But once that the policemen had surrounded the house completely, they made a lot of noise and inspector shamlal took out mike and spoke loudly into it. His voice sounded very loud!
“ DROP ALL YOUR WEAPONS AND SURRENDER TERRORIST! WE HAVE SURROUNDED YOU FROM ALL SIDES.”
The door flew open and a very grouchy and sleepy looking Mr. Katiyaar came out. He spoke and his voice sounded even louder that Mr. Shamlal without the device.
“TERRORIST? I AM NO TERRORIST! WHAT ARE YOU IDIOTS DOING IN MY HOUSE? I WORK IN THE BANK AS A CLERK!” he looked very angry and very confused.
Mr. Shamlal looked even angrier and more confused. “ A clerk in the bank? But this boy here,” he said looking at sameer. “Told me something entirely different.” By this time, everyone in the neighborhood had gathered around Mr. Katiyaar’s house, who was obviously not liking all the attention.
Sameer finally found his voice. “He is lying. He has weapons hidden in his garage. If he is a clerk and not a terrorist, tell him to open the garage!” he shouted. Mr. Shamlal seemed to agree and asked Mr. Katiyaar to open his garage. After a lot of persuasion, he agreed and opened the garage.

There were no weapons there. Instead there was a very old, tattered looking scooter lying inside. A few people giggled. Mr. Katiyaar looked sheepish. The inspector looked at him questioningly. Mr. Katiyaar did not really seem willing but he knew it was the police he was dealing with.
“You see, I am not really very rich and I cannot afford a car. I bought this scooter but I was very ashamed of it. So I never let anyone open this garage and always leave for work very early so no one sees this old piece of junk. But I assure you,” he glared at sameer. “That I am no terrorist.” The inspector seemed tired. “I apologize Mr. Katiyaar. It was all because of this nosy boy here.” He too glared at sameer.
It would not really be nice to describe all the blows and punishments sameer got after that so I would just like to say that his dream of becoming a second sherlock holmes was destroyed forever. Yet he was not allowed to forget this nasty incident. Sameer’s first case became the house hold joke for the neighborhood and no one seemed willing to forget it so soon!
