Title: The Invisibility Cloak II
'How can it be from your mom?' Peter asked, nearly choking on a bean. 'She's . . . dead, isn't she?'
'Yes,' siad Jodi quietly.
'Read it aloud,' Skylie suggested.
So Jodi read:
Dearest Jodi,
If you are now reading this, you are probably at Hogwarts and I and your father, gone. We knew Voldemort would come after us and you. But we weren't going to abandon you. We were going to protect you. I'm sorry it had to happen, Jodi.
This was one of my most valuable and favourite posessions. Take care of it and use it as much as you like, but don't get into too much mischief with it. I gave it to Ronda Taegni to give to you when you came to Hogwarts. She is probably one of your teachers now. Well, I must end this letter now. Good luck!

'So, it's from your mother, but Professor Taegni actually gave it to you,' Peter said, trying to put pieces together in his mind.
'Professor Taegni told me that she was good friends with my mother,' said Jodi. 'That must be why my mom gave it to her to give to me. Because she knew that she wouldn't be able to because . . . of Voldemort.'
'Wonder how your mother knew that Voldemort would be coming to kill you, her, and your father?' Skylie asked.
'I dunno. Maybe that's a question Professor Taegni can answer.'
'But how?' Peter queried. 'We'll never find time during class.'
'I've got it!' Jodi smiled. 'Tonight, before bed!' She held the invisibility cloak up.
'But she'll be awfully mad at you, won't she?' Peter asked.
'I don't think so. Besides, the letter says 'use it as much as you like'. Always do what mom says.'
