Title: Come
Come
1
Come with me, come with me,
to where there are halls dark and gloomy,
to where the robin sings its song among
trees sharp and green,
pointing into a sky
the colour of a princesses eyes.
Come with me, come with me,
where there are screams of agony.
Where secrets are withheld with force,
and men persuaded to part with them
by the use of whip and device.
Come with me, come with me,
to where kings sit high and peasants fall,
where dirt rules triumphant but cleanliness supreme,
where cries are common and pain exuberant,
where life is hard for the ones below.
Will you not come with me? Come with me!
Come with me! See how your life is easy!
Suffer you not, for soft is your life.
Come with me now to see dirt and squalor,
pain and torture.
The knights not good as fable says
and kings not honorable.
But come with me! Come with me!
For the night is young.
2
Come with me, come with me,
to where there is pain and sorrow,
and grief a daily chore.
Where death lies at every doorstep
and cloth is soaked with tears.
Come with me, come with me,
to where doom fills the streets,
where gravediggers prosper.
Where death controls life,
his scythe well worn.
Come with me, come with me,
to where children no longer play.
Rotting corpses litter the roads.
Smiles are rare and soon forgotten,
where life is a fight soon lost.
Come with me, come with me,
to where rats swarm and death spreads,
where the stench of death fills the air,
where graveyards are fill.
Will you not come with me? Come with me!
Come with me! See how your life is easy!
Suffer you not, for soft is your life.
Come with me now to see death and filth,
tears and grief.
Death more painful then is told
and life a struggle more fought.
Now come with me! Come with me!
For the night is young.
3
Come with me, come with me,
to a place where light is peace
and the dark clouds of storm calm.
Come with me to this place of beauty untouched.
This place of wonder does exist,
but in the mind only.
So come with me, come with me
to this place of unknown splendour.
Come with me! Come with me!
Come with me now to see this place,
and see it true.
But to see you shall have to surrender your mind.
A mind true.
Escape this dark world and come with me.
