Title: No more

No More

People running, carrying children,
Ants deserting their nest.
Children scream, tripping, falling,
Like a kettle left to boil.

People descending into bomb shelters,
Like animals hiding from the hunter.
The siren screeching above the voices,
a pig being slaughtered.

The planes cutting the clouds,
Eagles coming for the kills.
Women weeping, children sleeping,
Unrest creeping down your spine.
The night busy,
Moles going underground.

The streets empty,
As quiet as a graveyard.
The smell of dinners left cooking.
A child crying,
Falling raindrops on a dry night.

No sleep tonight

A crash as the planes release their destruction.
A blaze of light,
A star on it's last shine,
then,
no more.

A Storyteller Topic - Kids Are Poets Too
Poetry is a great way to express yourself, whether you're feeling down or on top of the world. There are many different types of poems and remember, they don't have to rhyme.
