Title: The Chinese Fireball
By now they were in a jungle of vines and trees. Dark shadows loomed everywhere, and noises jarred the silence at every moment. 'Where are we now?' asked Kira.
'Still in the Enchanted Forest,' Sylvia replied, looking down at the map.
'Look over there,' Kira exclaimed, pointing to a small stream where a ray of sun light broke through the trees. As Sylvia's eyes became accustomed to the light, three duck-like creatures, with bills that looked like spades, scooped water into their bills and squirted it out at each other. Both girls giggled and rode on.
'I wonder what those creatures were,' questioned Kira. 'I think they were Duck-Bills.' They both snickered.
'Awww, aren't they cute!' said Sylvia, pointing to two playful pups.
'Come here, boy.' When the pups looked up, Kira and Sylvia screamed 'Eeeeeewww!' together. Each dog had a nose that looked like a hose, one eye in the middle of its forehead and green ears with a bit torn off one ear. Their fangs were covered with red stuff that looked a lot like blood.
'Rooooooar!' one of the dogs growled, running towards them.
'Let's get out of here!' screamed Kira.
'Yeah,' agreed Sylvia, 'they look like they could be blood thirsty. Let's ride.'
As they rode deeper and deeper into the forest, they came to a huge tree with branches reaching up to the sky. 'Start climbing,' yelled Kira, as they scrambled up the trunk, and watched the dogs circling below them. But the puppies were not clever at climbing trees, and after a while became bored and wandered off.
'Now, h-how are we going to get down?' moaned Sylvia.
'That's how,' said Kira, pointing to two brightly colored birds heading their way. 'Hop on.'
'Okay.'
And they rode into the sunset together.
