Title: A high tide

A HIGH TIDE

Blue as the sky,
As smooth as a stone.
The weeds bubble up,
From the seabed among.
I set out in my boat,
The journey is long,
The tide comes in,
The current is strong.

The wind is blowing’
I set the sail.
The sky is darkening,
The clouds are still pale.
The water is salty,
The clouds start to cry,
The boat is rocking,
The tide is high.

There are waves from the devil,
Poseidons* anguished.
His triton is broken,
The boat is adrift
The light brakes for morning,
The sun’s in the sky,
The weeds bubble up,
The tide is high.

*Poseidon = God of the sea
