Title: Hatchet

Paulsen Hatchet
150 pp

The book Hatchet is about a kid named Brian who gets to go to visit his dad in Canada. On his way there the pilot had a heart attack and died. Brian did not know what to do and he tried the radio but it didn’t work. He flew the plane off course a little bit and then he found a landing place in the water and landed the plane with a very big splash!!! He jumped out from the plane and tried to swim to shore, and when he got their flying bugs were attacking him.

In the morning he went to get some food and he only found some gut cherries and some raspberries to eat. That filled him up a little bit. Then he went down to the water and got a drink. Then he went back to sleep. Then he realized that he had to learn to survive in the wilderness. He thought of what he needed and how he was going to build a shelter and with what. If you want to find out how he does this stuff then read the book to find out. It is also a very good book!!! From a scale from 1-5, I would rate this book a number 4. I would recommend that people who like excitement would read this kind of a book.
