Sounder is an interesting book. In this book the only character that does not have a name is the boy.
This story takes place just after the African Americans were set free from slavery.
This family is really poor. Their father is a sharecropper. He steals meat from a meat house and goes to jail. He has to go to hard labor and work. He gets in a dynamite explosion. I would recommend this story to any one. I like this book; it was good.
If I had to rate this book 1-10 I would pick a 5 because it had different kinds of details.
