Title: Cory's Journey, Chapter 3
'I'm not going to stand here like an idiot and think about what William
just said! I'm goin'!' Cory said, desperately trying to get William off his
thoughtful mind. He walked up the steps to Proffessor Oak's lab, and knocked
on the wooden door. It was at least five minutes until he answered the door.
'Oh, hi, Cory! You're just in time! I only have one Pokémon left, so you really don't
have much of a choice....' said Oak. 'Tell me about it. I saw William out there and
he told me I was late, and that you had no more Pokémon left for me,' Cory lied. Cory was trying
to make him get into trouble to pay him back for lieing to him earlier. 'Well, what Pokémon
is it?' Cory asked, changing the subject, and eager to get his first Pokémon! 'Well, William took
Charmander, Josh took Squrtle, Rich took Pikachu, so that leaves Bulbasaur. It's a Grass-type Pokémon.
Here ya go.' Oak handed me Bulbasaurs Pokéball. On the front it had a green leaf on it, meaning
it was Bulbasaur's Pokéball. 'Do you have any more Pokédexes?' Cory asked. 'I'm sorry Cory, but
I don't. Maybe you'll be lucky and find one on the ground along your journey to Viridian City,' Proffessor
Oak explained. Cory saw he was trying to cheer him up in some way. 'Oh, okay. Thanks anyway! Bye!' Cory
thanked him again and ran out the door. 'Cory, WAIT!!' Proffessor Oak cried. 'COME BACK HERE!!'
So Cory walked over to him. 'What do you want, Proffessor Oak?' Cory said. 'I want to give something to you,' Oak
said.
