Title: The Beach

I saw the beautiful calm water, glistening in the sunlight.
I smelt the salty tang of the ocean.
I felt the chill of the sea, running down my back.
I heard the noises of screaming, piercing my ears.

I saw small footprints in the fuming hot sand.
I smelt the queer odour of seaweed.
I felt the sand rub between my toes.
I heard the sand squelch with every step.

I saw beach towels laid out like a giant quilt.
I smelt sunscreen on the backs of people.
I felt the ruffle of my towel underneath me.
I heard bottles clanking and people munching on food.

I saw tiny rock pools, and inside the most strange creatures.
I smelt dead fish, washed up on the shore.
I felt the hard surface of the rocks.
I heard splashes, from people in the sea.

I saw boats, in the distance.
I smelt the horrible smell of gasoline.
I felt the water roll over my toes.
I heard one of the ships honk.

I saw cars slowly leaving.
I smelt their exhaust.
I felt pins and needles in my feet.
I heard a row of toots.
I felt lonely.
Slowly this day ends.
