Title: A Life Changing Story
Before that fateful day,
I was blind to all the facts,
I played life in my way,
Each day a brand new act,
I was blind; but happy too,
Living life from day to day,
There was so much no one knew,
I needed it in the worst way,
I didn’t know ‘till I talked to him,
He filled in my missing pieces,
Before he told me, my life was dim,
It’s the truth that really releases,
I cried when I was yelled at,
Never a thought if it was worse,
It was temporary combat,
And I thought THAT was a curse!
He told me of his life,
Which he feared for every day,
He knew the real meaning of strife,
And the pain of luck’s delay,
He laughed at his situation,
He was so “used to it” by now,
I was so touched by this conversation,
So I made a life-changing vow,
I will never take for granted,
My safety and my love,
My clean clothes and warm bed,
My loving father above,
I’ll never stay mad at my family,
They’re much too special for that,
I’ll thank God for me being so lucky,
It’s a new world I’m looking at,
I’ll live my life to the fullest,
Every single day,
I know now I am blessed,
I live life in a different way,
I can change the universe,
Make it better for everyone,
Doesn’t matter how diverse,
All living under the sun,
It’s all because he told me,
The way things really are,
I know how bad it could be,
The future is not very far,
It’s time to open my eyes,
And start being part of the solution,
Time to hear the desperate cries,
I have a resolution,
I’ve started it right now,
I know what I must do,
I know I must allow,
This lesson to come to you,
I owe it all to him,
The friend that is a stranger,
My heart is filled to the brim,
With hope to be a world changer,
Don’t let my words be lost,
On deaf, unknowing ears,
You’ll pay the highest cost,
With stranger’s fears and tears,
Thank you, my dear friend,
You’ve changed my life so much,
You’ve put your story on lend,
With your kind and warming touch,
