Isn't it funny,
You realize with a shock,
You'd never thought you'd be,
A person with secrets under lock,
Secrets that can tear apart,
A reputation in mere seconds,
Prying at the sides of your heart,
Until the secrecy ends?
A secret that a friend told you,
You suspected it all along,
You know the truth; what's to do,
The whole situation feels wrong,
Secret why he won't go out,
With you on one date,
Decision final, you may pout,
Explanation came too late,
Your friend's deep black secret,
Is yours to keep now,
It'll be difficult you can bet,
Keep it to yourself somehow,
You owe it to your friend,
Though he seems a stranger now,
Keep it in you 'til the end,
You made a sacred vow,
The last friend he told it to,
Hated him for the truth,
The friendship will be different and new,
With no instinct to be a slueth,
Stand faithfully by his side,
Many will not understand,
You will wish he had lied,
When it comes to insistant demand,
You thought you knew him inside out,
From the deep depths of his soul,
You've chosen a new friendship route,
Learn to like him as a whole,
You won't be sorry in the end,
It will not be regretted,
You won't be sorry you were his friend,
Your decision should not be fretted,
Learn to accept the facts,
The world he has lived in is rough,
If you allow yourself to be lax,
The next time it will be really tough,
