I said that I would understand,
I believed it myself too,
I'm glad you finally took your stand,
But I don't know what to do,
You told me that secret,
I suspected all along,
I was shocked you can bet,
My reaction wasn't wrong,
I told you it changed nothing,
We were friends just like before,
I smoothed it over to cover the sting,
My bewilderment I did ignore,
That comment in the e-mail,
Was you testing out the water,
I noticed it without fail,
Straight fact I would prefer,
Sit down and talk with me,
Tell it from the start,
How many secrets could there be?
You're agonizing my heart,
You scare me; but I'll learn,
To accept it, just give me time,
Someday, your friendship I will earn,
And our friendship will be at its prime,
I regret my curiosity; me wanting to know,
But I won't let it change a thing,
The shock will soon go,
