Title: Onion

Who am I?
Do you know?
I am like an onion,
With layers.
Peel back
The fresh ripe skin.
Perfect.
Not in the center
Rotten.
Why?
Is it the plant that's bad?
Or the gardener?
Everyone has the chance to fly.
I lift my wings,
But they are clipped.
So I stay on the ground
While the passersby look
At the girl,
At the life that she has.
Perfect.
Yes, perfect.
Right?
Wrong.
Like an onion,
With layers.
Ripe on the outside
And rotten within.
