Title: Second Thoughts
I brushed my long black hair out of my eyes and stared out the window. It all seemed like a dream. One day, I was just an ordinary kid, and the next, I find out that I'm a witch, and get to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At first I had been excited to go; I had always been fascinated in magic, but didn't know it actually existed. But, as I watched London go by, I wondered if all I had should be let go for this. The school didn't seem very advanced. I mean, the letter was delivered by an owl! Diagon Alley was pretty neat, but seeing all sorts of magical tools made my brain hurt. I couldn't really focus in school; how could I ever concentrate on magic? Just then, the door of my compartment slid open and a girl poked her head in.
'Mind if I sit here? All the other seats are taken.' She asked. I nodded. She had long brown hair down to her waist, and gray eyes.
'I'm Arista,' She said, 'I've been waiting to go to Hogwarts ever since my big brother went. How about you?'
'Um...I didn't even know magic or Hogwarts existed until I got my letter,' I said, 'My name is Misty.'
'Oh, so you probably don't know much about Hogwarts.' Arista said, and explained all about Hogwart's four houses.
Later, we were standing in the great hall, waiting to be sorted. I hoped I wasn't in Slytherin. Arista told me all about it, and how bad witches or wizards were usually in it. Suddenly, my name was called. I slowly walked up to the sorting hat, and it was placed on my head. Ten seconds later, it yelled out to the hall: 'RAVENCLAW!' I walked over to the Ravenclaw table, and many people congratuated me for being in their house. Later, Arista got into Ravenclaw as well.
'Hmm...,' I thought as we ate a fablous dinner, 'Maybe this school won't be as bad as I thought.'
