Title: Why?

Water droplets brush my face,
Like Jesus brushed my life.
I wish I could have known Him more,
And then He'd be here in my strife.
But it was my decision,
Completely my own choice,
To not let Him into my heart,
And shut Him off entirely.
And now my end is coming,
Because of what I did,
Oh why did it have to happen,
Why couldn't He be my choice?
Why did I have to take the wrong path,
The one that led away from Him,
Into quarries of death and hopelessness?
How did I not see Him,
When He was right here, all along?
Why did I have to be so blind?
I'm only seventeen, God,
Please don't let me die.
But I suppose it's just a little late,
To start accepting Him now,
When I went and drank and then
Got almost killed.
Please God, I didn't always choose You,
But please choose me now,
And please, don't let me fall
Away from Your arms.
