I was quite pleased when James Potter cam over to my house on the thirst of August 1987 to ask me the biggest favour in a long time. At firs I just fought he wanted me to baby sit hi one-year-old son Harry as I was his godfather but in stead he asked me if I would be his, his with and sons secret keeper. James and me had been beast friends sins we where eleven so without giving it a thought I agreed.
I carefully placed the fiddiles charm on Godrics hollow, were the Potters lived. The use of the fiddlies charm is that no matter if you had your nose pressed against the living room window of a house with the fiddlies charm placed on it, you would not know who lived there in less the secret keeper tells you who is in the house. This was the perfect plan in those dark days. James knew that the evil dark lord wanted to kill him and his family. The reason for this was that Lord Voldemort knew that one-day their son Harry was going to over power him.
Too months went by without any sign of Lord Voldemort but soon I started thinking about the chances of Lord Voldemort guessing that James had chosen me to be his and his family’s secret keeper. Soon I decided that James would be better of using Peter Pettigrew another friend of us both. So the next day I persuaded the Potters to use Peter instead. Twenty nine days later I realised what a mistake I had made. Peter had betrayed James and me. He had told Lord Voldemort of the Potters whereabouts and on Halloween night He struck. Lord Voldemort went to Godriks hollow and Killed James and his with Lilly. I rode on my flying motorbike to the house but I was too late. It was already in ruins. I herd a Baby’s cry come from the debris and I knew Harry had survived! As I climbed over the broken fence to rescue him I saw a large figure appear from the wreckage.
“HAGRID!” I called. Hagrid emerged from the debris carrying baby Harry.
“Give him here Hagrid Ill take him, I’m his god father.
“No can do Sirius. I’ve got me orders. Got a take him back to Dumbledore were he’ll be brought up by ‘is muggle aunt and uncle.”
“But” I said, “Well, take my motorbike to get there. I won’t be needing it anymore.”
I remember it like it was yesterday. Hagrid riding of into the night carrying Harry raped in a bundle of blankets as He left the magic world. I knew what must do. Find Peter find him and repay him for what he did to James!
