Title: Why me? ~the story so far~ (thinking of adding to
As I strolled down the long, winding road, the street lamps flickered and a cold breeze travelled through my hair. I wrapped my coat closer to me and continued walking. After a while I reached a stone bridge, with a shallow stream flowing underneath it. As my mum used to tell me, wishing over a stone bridge, is very good luck. I didn’t always think this was true, but it was worth a try. I wished for mum to come and pick me up, away from Tara’s evil family. I was staying with them for a few days, and I’d just come for a walk.
The moon hid behind the clouds, and there was no noise, just the sound of trees swaying, back and forth in the wind. I suddenly shivered. I turned around and headed in the opposite direction, back to Tara’s. The reason I hated Tara’s family so much is because they are nothing like Tara, sweet, kind and very polite. Her family have no manners, especially at mealtime. Tara and me sit alone at the dining table while the rest of her family have a TV dinner. I do have a TV dinner at home, but no leaving any part of the family alone, even guests.
I finally reached Tara’s home. I knocked on the door. The gargoyle answered. Mrs Jennings.
”Oh, Leah. Come in.,” she said, gloomily.
”I am staying here remember!” I answered.
”I know…I know.”
I made my way up the creaky staircase. All the rooms where painted in a horrible wish-washy grey. In my house they were bright, lively purples, greens, blues. Here, like prisons cell. Yuck. At least I had company.
”Tara, is it ok if I go home?” I asked,
” Well, my mum will murder me thinking that I’ve been horrible to you. I don’t want that!” she replied. I agreed and thought her mum would kill me too.I sat down in the chair in the corner. I slumped down. Tara was watching an action movie. My favourite. But here it was hell. I closed my eyes. The action of the film turned into a horror movie, where all the family where gargoyles in the land of Death. Each one had something for me; a cut, and a bruise, a hard beating. I couldn’t open my eyes. Was it real, or was I asleep? It was so realistic.
