Title: The best of friends... Chapter 6

My Father stood over me, like a volcano, bubbling over with rage. His booming voice filled the room...
'JUST WHAT WERE YOU 3 THINKING?!?!?! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH GRIEF YOU PUT US ALL THROUGH?? WE ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK!!! I CAME IN TO CHECK ON YOU ALL ON MY WAY TO THE BATHROOM AND -'
'Oh, Dad, Mum, I'm so pleased to see you both!' I cried, not caring about the scolding we were about to get. I began to cry, tears rolled down my cheeks as I sobbed and sniffled. Dad hugged me, and I felt so safe and happy... Jenna and Jess began to sob a little too, as my Mum ran over to take care of them. Then Dad smiled at me.
'I'm so glad you're safe.' He whispered, smiling in that wonderful, 'everything is OK now' way, that only a parent could smile. Then Mum apologised to the hotel staff, saw them off and bustled off to get tea for us all.
We all sat on the floor, steaming mugs of tea clasped in our hands while we told a tweaked version of our story. I said I saw someone being robbed, and that we managed to scare the robber off. They said that they were very proud... I felt so guilty about lying but we all knew that they'd never believe us if we told them the truth...
When we'd finished our drinks it was 2:30 in the morning. We crawled off to bed and as I rested my head I was so tired I fell asleep peacefully. That was the last night I ever slept peacefully. If I had of known what would be happeing less that 24 hours away from then, I wouldn't have slept half as peacefully.
