Title: The Rain
The clouds form and the darkness rolls in,
blackness arrives as that of sin.
Standing out in the open field,
no umbrella or coat for a shield.
I hold my hands up to the sky,
as the angels begin to cry.
It's cold and I am alone,
but on my face there's no expression shown.
I feel calm and free,
as the rain pours upon me.
Why I have this feeling, I do not know,
but where else would I go?
Stress and dispair fill my days,
my life has changed in so many ways.
All these thoughts go through my mind,
but a solution I cannot find.
The nice guy always finishes last,
down into the fire they are cast.
I've tried and tried,
until my fears have finally dried.
My arms begin falling,
but upon the rain I am still calling.
I stand still,
with my cup of pain continuing to fill.
So where do I go from here,
it will only get worse, I fear.
I stand alone drowning in pain,
with nothing to lose, much more to gain.
I will continue to be me,
that's the only way I know to be.
I'll just pray and hope for the best,
right now, I'm truly being put to the test.
So I shall go,
my feelings I will try not to show,
When the rain that calms me does cease,
maybe in my heart there will finally be peace.
