Title: The English Corridor

As I walk down the corridor,
And shadows surround,
I contemplate forgetting
The existence of sound.

A definitive answer
May be misplaced,
Distinctively persuasive
To a subjects distaste.

The ultimate test
Is to smile at the night,
Where the shapes on the wall
Are due to moonlight.

As dim as it is,
Like the batteries are low,
It shows me the way
To where I want to go.

The long walk ahead
Whispers mockingly,
Why won't they quieten?
Just let it be.

The wind blows behind me,
The rain to my side,
I can't find the sun,
Believe me I've tried.
